Mesquite Continuation High

Mesquite Continuation High is a small, alternative public high school serving about 95 students in grades 9-12 within the Sierra Sands Unified School District in Ridgecrest, CA, designed to support students who have faced significant challenges in a traditional school setting.

The school serves a high-needs population, and its performance data reflects the profound difficulties its students face. Most notably, more than 8 out of 10 students are chronically absent, which is a primary barrier to learning and contributes to the school's very low graduation rate of 47.4% and high dropout rate. Academic proficiency rates are significantly lower than state and district averages.
