Summary

Centerville Elementary is a K-8 public school serving 409 students in the Sanger Unified district, with a significant portion of its students coming from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

Academically, the school's test scores in English, math, and science are consistently below both district and state averages, placing it in the lower-middle tier among Sanger Unified schools; it performs better than the highest-poverty schools like Wilson Elementary and Jackson Elementary, but significantly trails higher-performing schools such as Quail Lake Environmental Charter and Fairmont Elementary. A notable strength is its exceptionally low chronic absenteeism rate of 7.0%, which is far better than the district average and most nearby schools, presenting an interesting contrast to its academic challenges.

The school's performance has declined over the past decade, and it shows uneven results across different grade levels and student groups, with spending per student that is higher than some more successful schools in the area, raising questions about how resources are used to support student learning.

Open Quote Its a great school. Very family orientated, friendly and the education is great. this was my both daughters first year in centerville and I have never been so happy with a school. they both have achieved beyond what is expected: socially and education. I couldn't ask for such a better school. Close Quote
