Summary:

Sanger Unified has 20 schools: 14 elementary schools, one middle school, four high schools, and one alternative school, serving students from elementary through high school. In 2025–26, the unweighted averages across schools with reported results were 52% in ELA, 41% in math, and 34% in science, compared with statewide results of 49%, 38%, and 36%. These averages span different grade levels; results for Community Day were suppressed. The most important takeaway is that school results vary widely, and the area’s average is above the state in ELA and math but below it in science.

Quail Lake Environmental Charter leads all three subjects, with 81% ELA, 73% math, and 69% science; its results exceed the state by 31, 35, and 33 percentage points, respectively. At the other end, Kings River High (Continuation) has 3% ELA, 0% math, and 1% science, but its continuation-school status makes it unlike a comprehensive high school. Among K–6 schools, Ronald W. Reagan Elementary stands out with 66% ELA, 60% math, and 52% science; compared with Wilson Elementary, it is ahead by 35, 36, and 38 points. SchoolDigger ranks Quail Lake at the 96th statewide percentile, versus the 23rd for Wilson and 4th for Kings River.

Across the 19 reporting schools, average results rose from 2024–25 by 3 points in ELA, 3 in math, and 5 in science; statewide results rose by about 0, 1, and 3 points. Improvements varied: Sanger West High gained 17 points in ELA and 12 in math, while Reagan gained 27 points in science. SchoolDigger’s statewide percentile for Wilson rose from 6 to 23 over three years, although its current scores remain low; Quail Lake stayed high, moving from 95 to 96. Income figures are context, not an explanation of results: in 2024–25, 65% of Reagan students and 94% of Wilson students were free/reduced lunch eligible, compared with 31% at Quail Lake.
