Summary

Giannini (A.P.) Middle serves grades 6–8 and enrolls 1,183 students in San Francisco. In 2025–26, students reached 79% proficiency in English language arts, 68% in math and 67% in science—results that put the school ahead of nearby same-district middle schools in all three subjects.

Giannini’s tested-subject results are well above both San Francisco Unified and California: its margins over the district were 25 points in ELA, 22 in math and 24 in science, and its margins over the state were 29, 29 and 31 points, respectively. It also led the seven nearby district middle schools with comparable results; their averages were 50% in ELA, 39% in math and 38% in science. The next-highest overall results came from Roosevelt Middle. Giannini is not first in every grade-level matchup, however: it narrowly trailed Roosevelt in seventh-grade math and eighth-grade ELA.
