Summary

Parkway Elementary serves 409 students in kindergarten through grade 6 in Sacramento’s Sacramento City Unified district. Chronic absenteeism has improved, falling from 65% in 2021–2022 to 42% in 2025–2026, but it remains higher than the district’s 27% and the state’s 18%; it was also higher than at every nearby school in the data. Most importantly, Parkway’s proficiency was below district, state and nearby-school averages in ELA, math and science.

Science is Parkway’s strongest subject relative to nearby schools, while math is its weakest. In 2025–2026, 12% of Parkway students were proficient in science, compared with a 17% nearby-school average; the gaps were 18 points to the district and 24 to the state.
