Summary

Nohl Canyon Elementary serves 524 students in grades K–6 in Anaheim, as part of Orange Unified. SchoolDigger ranked it 301st out of 5,804 California schools in 2025–26, at the 95th percentile with five stars. Its proficiency was 81% in English language arts (ELA), 75% in math, and 78% in science—well above the state in every subject. Most strikingly, chronic absenteeism was just 4% in 2025–26, lower than the district, the state, and every nearby school with a reported rate.

Over that span, Nohl’s advantage over the state widened in ELA but narrowed in math and science. Its current standing comes alongside a student-teacher ratio of 27.7 in 2024–25, above the nearby-school average of 25.1, and a reported 20% free/reduced lunch eligible in 2024–25, the lowest share among nearby schools reporting that measure. SchoolDigger’s ranking for White students was at the 76th percentile in 2025–26, below the school’s 95th-percentile overall ranking; its ranking for Multi-racial Students rose from the 60th to the 92nd percentile between 2023–24 and 2025–26.
