Napa Valley Independent Studies is a K–12 alternative school serving 116 students in Napa, within Napa Valley Unified. In 2025–2026, 8% of students were proficient in mathematics, 38% in English language arts (ELA), and 21% in science; the clearest concern is math, especially in 11th grade, where proficiency was just 3% compared with 20% in the district and 32% statewide.
