Summary

Bandini Elementary is a K–5 school with 260 students in Commerce, in the area served by Montebello Unified. In 2025–26, SchoolDigger placed it in the 4th percentile statewide and gave it zero stars. The most important concern is that proficiency was low in every tested subject: 13% in English Language Arts (ELA), 15% in math, and 13% in science, all below district and state results.

ELA is Bandini’s clearest weakness compared with the district and state: it trailed by 24 percentage points and 37 points, respectively. Those grade 5 results were above Winter Gardens Elementary and Rosewood Park, but remained below the district.

Bandini’s 2024–25 student-teacher ratio was 16.7, the lowest reported among nearby schools. Its 2024–25 free/reduced lunch eligible rate was 84%, below the nearby-school average of 92%. Chronic absenteeism remains a concern: 27% in 2025–26, compared with 18% in the district and 18% statewide.
