Summary

Lincoln Elementary is a K–8 school in Manteca, California, serving 736 students in an area where nearby schools also serve the same grades. Its 2025–2026 proficiency rates were 19% in English language arts (ELA), 10% in math and 7% in science. The central finding for families is that Lincoln had the lowest all-grades results among 10 nearby schools in all three subjects.

Math is Lincoln’s closest subject to comparison benchmarks, though its results remain low: its 10% proficiency was 11 percentage points below the nearby-school average of 21%, compared with an 11-point gap in science and a 12-point gap in ELA. Lincoln was also below Manteca Unified and California in every subject. Its gaps to the district were 13 points in math, 16 in science and 17 in ELA; gaps to the state were 28, 29 and 30 points, respectively. Within the school, sixth-grade ELA was a relative bright spot at 29%, while fifth-grade ELA was 12%; seventh-grade math was especially low at 6%.

Meanwhile, the state’s gains widened Lincoln’s gaps, most notably in science, where the gap grew by 5 percentage points. Attendance has improved: chronic absenteeism fell from 44% in 2021–2022 to 22% in 2025–2026, close to the district’s 22% but above the state’s 18%. SchoolDigger ranks Lincoln in the 3rd statewide percentile with 0 stars, below every nearby school. Its 2024–2025 student-teacher ratio was 23.2, below the nearby average of 24.9, and 78% of students were free/reduced lunch eligible that year, compared with a nearby average of 67%. One notable group result: SchoolDigger’s statewide percentile for “White Students” rose from 1st in 2017–2018 to 6th in 2021–2022, indicating improved relative standing in how well the school serves this group.
