Summary

Dixieland is a K–8 school in Madera, California, serving 266 students in Madera Unified. In 2025–2026, its proficiency rates were below California’s in English language arts (ELA), math and science. Its clearest academic concern is ELA: 29% of students were proficient, compared with 33% districtwide and 49% statewide.

Compared with five nearby Madera Unified schools, Dixieland stood out more in science than in ELA or math. Its science proficiency was 25%, above the district’s 21% and the nearby-school average of 18%; it ranked second-highest among those five schools. Math was 21%, just under a point above the district but below the nearby-school average of 28%. ELA was 29%, below both the district and nearby-school average of 35%. The latest science result is encouraging, though math remains below its earlier peak and ELA has recently slipped.
