Polytechnic High is a large grades 9–12 school in Long Beach, serving 3,890 students in Long Beach Unified. Its 2025–2026 graduation rate was 93%, above the state’s 88% and the district’s 91%, and its dropout rate was 6%, below the state’s 8%. The most important concern is chronic absenteeism: 34% of students were chronically absent, 16 percentage points above the state and 9 points above the district.

English is the school’s clearest strength against state and district results: 55% met the proficiency standard, compared with 49% statewide and 51% districtwide.
