Tahoe Valley Elementary is a 395-student K–5 school in South Lake Tahoe, in the Lake Tahoe Unified district. The clearest concern for families comparing nearby schools is that Tahoe Valley has the lowest all-grades English language arts (ELA) and math results among the four Lake Tahoe Unified K–5 schools with reported results.

In 2025–2026, 34% of Tahoe Valley students were proficient in ELA and 28% in math, compared with 49% and 38% statewide and 48% and 36% districtwide. Those results were 27 points below the other three schools’ average in ELA and 19 points below in math. Tahoe Valley Elementary has an emphasis in performing arts. This school has a first rate stage with lighting for performances, and a staff with expertise in music and drama. The school has a well-equipped science lab. The school is in always kept in top condition, due to snow load remodeling. The play area has new equipment and is surrounded by the natural beauty of Lake Tahoe's trees and mountains. Students are kept abreast in the latest in technology. Each child has their own netbook to use at Tahoe Valley Elementary. Most importantly, Tahoe Valley has a dedicated and talented staff whose primary objective is the success of their students.
