Walter M. Brown Elementary serves 645 students in kindergarten through sixth grade in Turlock, California. Its 2025–26 proficiency results were below Turlock Unified and state averages in English language arts (ELA), math, and science. They were also below the average for nine nearby schools in every subject. The clearest concern is that proficiency remains low across all three subjects, especially math compared with district and nearby-school results.

Science is Brown’s strongest subject relative to its comparison groups, while math is its weakest against the district and nearby schools.
