Summary

Crowne Hill Elementary is a well-regarded K-5 public school serving 519 students in the Temecula Valley Unified district, consistently earning a 4-star rating and outperforming California state averages in English, math, and science.

When compared to nearby schools, Crowne Hill presents a mixed picture. It shows a relative strength in mathematics, outperforming the district average, and excels in teaching science. The school also benefits from a lower student-teacher ratio and receives significantly more funding per student than most peers. However, its academic results are generally in the middle of the pack among local schools, and it faces a notable challenge with chronic absenteeism, which is higher than at many neighboring schools like Rancho Elementary and Abby Reinke Elementary. This high absentee rate is a concern because regular attendance is closely linked to academic success.

The school's performance for some student groups has declined recently, coinciding with an increase in the number of students qualifying for free or reduced-price lunch. While Crowne Hill is a solid school that beats state standards, its higher level of funding suggests there may be opportunities to better leverage resources to improve attendance and support all students, especially as its student population evolves. Its proximity to top-performing Abby Reinke Elementary provides a clear benchmark for comparison and potential collaboration.

Open Quote I have two children at Crowne Hill and this is an amazing school. The kindergarten program is amazing - the children start the year not knowing their abc's and finish the year reading and writing paragraphs. Every week the children practice public speaking and they create presentations to present in front of their class. The other grades are no different.

The teachers at this school care about their students and push them all to be the top and the best that they can be. My fourth grader has been attending this school since Kindergarten and she continues to amaze me. The material that these students are being taught is more than just "test material" as in other schools. Great school! Close Quote
