Summary:
The Solana Beach Elementary area includes seven schools serving 2,619 students: four schools serve kindergarten through sixth grade, two serve kindergarten through third grade, and Solana Pacific Elementary serves grades four through six. In 2025–26, every school’s English language arts (ELA) and math results, and all five reported science results, were above state proficiency rates. Still, school results span 16 percentage points in ELA, 19 in math, and 28 in science. The key takeaway is that strong results compared with the state do not mean families will see similar results at every school in the area.
Solana Pacific Elementary leads all-grades results in ELA (90%), math (89%), and science (87%); its leads over the next-highest schools are 4, 4, and 17 percentage points, respectively. Solana Ranch Elementary is second in ELA (85%) and science (70%), while Solana Highlands Elementary is second in math (85%) and leads fifth-grade math at 95%. At the other end, Solana Vista Elementary has the lowest all-grades ELA (73%) and math (70%), though both are above state results. Solana Santa Fe Elementary shows a striking grade-level contrast: it leads third-grade ELA (92%) and math (96%), but has the lowest sixth-grade ELA (75%) among schools reporting that grade and the lowest reported science result (59%).
Recent changes are mixed: Carmel Creek Elementary had the largest ELA and math gains, up 7 percentage points in each from 2024–25 to 2025–26; it serves K–3, so its all-grades results represent grade three. Solana Pacific Elementary improved in all three reported subjects, while Solana Santa Fe Elementary fell 10 points in science. SchoolDigger places Solana Ranch Elementary, Solana Highlands Elementary, and Solana Pacific Elementary in the 98th percentile statewide. Student–teacher ratios range from 20.8 at Solana Santa Fe Elementary to 24.1 at Skyline Elementary. The schools’ free/reduced lunch eligible measures for 2024–25 range from 6% at Solana Ranch Elementary to 23% at Solana Vista Elementary; these are context, not an explanation for results.
