Ripon Unified

The seven schools in Ripon Unified serve students in five K–8 elementary schools and two grades 9–12 high schools. In 2025–2026, the elementary schools averaged 62% proficiency in English language arts, 55% in math and 43% in science, compared with state results of 49%, 38% and 36%. The high schools have sharply different results, and elementary science varies much more from school to school than ELA or math. The most important finding is that a strong group average does not describe every school’s experience—especially in science, or at the two high schools.

Park View Elementary led the elementary schools in ELA at 73% and math at 66%, ahead of Colony Oak Elementary by 10 and 8 percentage points, respectively. Ripon Elementary led science at 60%, 10 points above the next school, Weston Elementary; Ripona Elementary was lowest at 21%, 15 points below the state. At the high-school level, Ripon High scored 74% in ELA, 45% in math and 54% in science, beating Harvest High by 41, 45 and 41 points. Harvest’s results were 33%, 0% and 13%; its enrollment is just 16 students, so those results warrant particular caution.

Results changed unevenly. From 2024–2025 to 2025–2026, Ripon High rose 15 points in ELA, 8 in math and 12 in science, while Park View fell 1, 4 and 9 points. Ripon Elementary’s science result rose 14 points to become the elementary high. SchoolDigger ranked Park View in the 81st percentile and Ripon High in the 87th percentile in 2025–2026. Elementary student–teacher ratios ranged from 21.6 to 24.3; Park View had the highest ratio while leading ELA and math. The schools’ reported free/reduced lunch eligible rates for 2024–2025 ranged from 20% at Park View to 48% at Ripona—useful context, but not an explanation of results.
