Summary:

The four elementary schools in Orinda Union all serve K–5 and enroll between 399 and 489 students; in 2025–2026, each was well above California’s proficiency rates in ELA, math, and science. Their biggest difference is in science, where school results spanned 27 percentage points.

Wagner Ranch led all three subjects, with 90% proficient in ELA, 91% in math, and 91% in science—about 5, 7, and 15 points above the other schools’ averages, respectively. Glorietta was lowest in all three, most notably at 65% in science, 21 points below the other schools’ average of 86%. Still, even Glorietta’s results were above state rates. Del Rey ranked second in ELA and math, while Sleepy Hollow ranked second in science; Sleepy Hollow also had the lowest grade 3 ELA result, at 70%.

Across the four schools, average ELA and math proficiency declined by 1 and 2 percentage points from 2024–2025 to 2025–2026, while science rose by 1 point—but that average masks a 13-point science drop at Glorietta and an 11-point gain at Sleepy Hollow. SchoolDigger awarded all four schools five stars; its statewide ranks were 25 for Wagner Ranch, 66 for Del Rey, 98 for Sleepy Hollow, and 191 for Glorietta. Student-teacher ratios ranged from 21.0 at Sleepy Hollow to 23.4 at Glorietta. For 2024–2025, free/reduced lunch eligible figures were 2% at Wagner Ranch, 2% at Glorietta, 4% at Del Rey, and 5% at Sleepy Hollow; these are context, not an explanation of school results.
