Summary:
The Lancaster Elementary area has 22 schools—16 classified as elementary and 6 as middle schools—with no high schools. Across the 21 schools with reported 2025–26 results, average proficiency was 25% in ELA, 16% in math, and 17% in science, compared with California’s 49%, 38%, and 36%. The most important finding is that Fulton and Alsbury Academy of Arts and Engineering was the only school above the state in all three subjects.
Fulton and Alsbury Academy of Arts and Engineering led the area with 61% ELA, 40% math, and 43% science—about 24, 7, and 13 percentage points ahead of the next-highest schools in those subjects. Among traditional elementary schools, West Wind Elementary had the strongest All Grades results: 37% ELA, 27% math, and 29% science. Lancaster Alternative and Virtual Academies also stood out, with 33% math. At the low end, Rise reported 3% ELA and 0% in math and science; excluding Rise, the lowest results were 12% ELA at El Dorado Elementary and 6% math and 8% science at Joshua Elementary.
From 2024–25 to 2025–26, area averages were nearly flat in ELA and math and rose by 2 points in science, while California gained less than 1 point in ELA, 1 in math, and 3 in science. Individual trends varied: New Vista Middle gained 6 points in ELA, West Wind Elementary gained 9 in science, and Lancaster Alternative and Virtual Academies fell 10 in science. SchoolDigger gave Fulton and Alsbury Academy of Arts and Engineering four stars and a 73rd-percentile rank; its student-teacher ratio was 31.9 in 2024–25. In same-grade comparisons, West Wind led Nancy Cory Elementary in ELA and math across grades 3–5; their ratios were similar at 26.1 and 26.0. Their free/reduced lunch eligible shares were 76% and 79%, respectively, in 2024–25—context that does not explain results. Promise Academy’s test results are suppressed, and Rise has just 16 students, so its results warrant caution.
