Summary:
La Canada Unified has four schools serving grades K–12: three elementary schools for grades K–6 and one high school for grades 7–12, with 3,979 students in total. In 2025–2026, every school scored above the state figure in all three reported subjects; the schools’ average results were 39 percentage points above the state in ELA, 47 in Math, and 49 in Science. The clearest area-wide finding is that results are strong compared with the state, although Science shows the widest gap among the schools.
Palm Crest Elementary stands out at the top, leading the all-grades results in ELA (91%), Math (90%), and Science (92%). Its Science score was 16 points above La Canada Elementary, which had the lowest ELA (86%) and Science (77%) results; La Canada Elementary’s Science result is also 13 points below Paradise Canyon Elementary (90%). La Canada High had the lowest Math result, at 83%, 8 points below Palm Crest. Paradise Canyon’s Science result rose 10 points from the previous year.
Science improved at all four schools between 2024–2025 and 2025–2026, with the equal-weight school average rising 11 points; ELA and Math averages changed little. SchoolDigger ranks Palm Crest 9th, Paradise Canyon 42nd, La Canada Elementary 79th, and La Canada High 24th statewide, and gives all four schools five stars. Among the elementary schools, Palm Crest has the lowest student-teacher ratio (22.5), compared with 24.7 at Paradise Canyon and 25.4 at La Canada Elementary. Each school reported free/reduced lunch eligible figures for SY 2024–2025: about 5% at the high school and at Palm Crest and Paradise Canyon, and 7% at La Canada Elementary; these are context, not an explanation for results. Because the high school serves grades 7–12 while the other schools serve K–6, their all-grades scores do not reflect the same grade mix.
