Summary:
The three schools in Galt Joint Union High serve grades 9–12 and enroll 1,934 students; the group includes two comprehensive high schools and one continuation school. Their 2025–26 results show a sharply divided picture: the comprehensive schools score far higher than the continuation school, so an area-wide average would hide major differences among schools.
Liberty Ranch High leads in all three subjects, with 70% proficiency in English language arts (ELA), 37% in math, and 45% in science. It is 21 points above the state in ELA and 9 points above in science, but 2 points below in math. Galt High ranks second in each subject, at 66% in ELA, 27% in math, and 41% in science; it is above the state in ELA and science, but 12 points below in math. Estrellita Continuation High is lowest at 5% in ELA, 2% in math, and 4% in science—44, 36, and 32 points below state results, respectively. The largest school-to-school spread is 65 points in ELA.
Results changed in different directions: Galt improved by 4 points in ELA, 4 in math, and 2 in science from 2024–25, while Liberty fell by 7, 4, and 4 points. Estrellita’s ELA result fell by 6 points, while science rose by 2. SchoolDigger ranks Liberty 505th of 2,137 statewide (76th percentile, four stars), Galt 693rd (68th percentile, three stars), and Estrellita 2,065th (3rd percentile, zero stars). Other measures add context: in 2024–25, free/reduced lunch eligible shares were 41% at Liberty, 57% at Galt, and 75% at Estrellita; student-teacher ratios were 22.8, 22.3, and 19.0. Estrellita’s graduation rate was 92%, above the 88% state rate, but its chronic absenteeism was 56%, compared with 18% statewide.
