Summary:
Dixon Unified has one listed middle school, John Knight Middle, serving grades 6–8 and enrolling 634 students. In 2025–2026, its proficiency rates were close to district results but below state results in every reported subject: 34% in ELA, 22% in math, and 24% in science, compared with state rates of 49%, 38%, and 36%. The most important finding is that math had the widest all-grade gap from the state, at 16 percentage points.
There is no top or bottom school to compare within the area because John Knight Middle is the only school listed. Its relative bright spot is science: its state gap was 12 percentage points, narrower than its 15-point ELA gap and 16-point math gap.
