Chino Valley Unified

The 35 schools in Chino Valley Unified include 23 elementary schools, five middle schools, and seven high schools. In 2025–26, their unweighted average proficiency was above the state average in English language arts, math, and science: 56% versus 49% in ELA, 46% versus 38% in math, and 40% versus 36% in science. But school results span from very high to very low in every subject. The most important finding for families is that district averages do not describe the very different results at individual schools.

Country Springs Elementary leads the supplied schools in all three subjects, with 90% proficient in ELA, 90% in math, and 88% in science; SchoolDigger ranks it 21st of 5,804 California elementary schools, in the 100th percentile with five stars. Canyon Hills Junior High leads the middle schools at 77% in ELA, 68% in math, and 65% in science, while Ruben S. Ayala High leads the four comprehensive high schools at 82%, 56%, and 60%. At the lower end, Dickson Elementary has 32% in ELA and 22% in math, and Walnut Avenue Elementary has 14% in science. Ramona Junior High records 41% in ELA and 18% in math; among comprehensive high schools, Chino High is lowest in math at 25% and science at 31%.

Average results rose from 2024–25 to 2025–26, most in science: school averages increased 3 points in science, 1 point in ELA, and about 0.5 points in math. Changes varied: Magnolia Junior High gained 9 points in ELA, 5 in math, and 5 in science, while Woodcrest Junior High fell 13 points in math. SchoolDigger also shows Ayala’s statewide high-school rank improving from 173rd in 2023–24 to 143rd in 2025–26; rankings are a separate measure from test-score changes. As context, in 2024–25, 19% of Ayala students and 18% of Country Springs students were directly certified for free meals—an observation, not an explanation for their results. All-grade scores can reflect different grade mixes, and alternative schools are not necessarily comparable with comprehensive schools.
