Summary:

Bennett Valley Union Elementary has two elementary schools serving kindergarten at Yulupa Elementary and grades 1–6 at Bennett Valley Charter. The supplied data include 2024–2025 test results for both schools, while only the charter has 2025–2026 results. One important caveat: Yulupa is listed as kindergarten-only but has all-grades and third-grade test records, so the school comparisons are not fully like-for-like. The clearest shared finding is that both schools’ reported 2024–2025 results were above state averages in ELA and math, with a notably larger difference between schools in math.

Yulupa had the higher reported 2024–2025 results in both subjects: 65% in ELA versus 63% at Bennett Valley Charter, and 61% in math versus 48%, a 13-point math gap. Both were above state results of 49% in ELA and 37% in math. For 2025–2026, the charter was above the state in all three reported subjects: 61% in ELA, 52% in math, and 52% in science, compared with state results of 49%, 38%, and 36%. Its third grade was a standout: 74% proficient in ELA and 68% in math, respectively 30 and 21 points above state results.

The charter’s results changed in different directions from 2024–2025 to 2025–2026: ELA fell 2 points, while math rose 5 and science rose 6; its lead over the state narrowed in ELA but widened in math and science. Attendance also differed: 2025–2026 chronic absenteeism was 12% at the charter and 19% at Yulupa, a 7-point gap. In 2024–2025, Yulupa had a lower student–teacher ratio (21.7 versus 24.3) and higher spending per student ($22,550 versus $20,820); free/reduced lunch eligible shares that year were 32% and 35%, respectively. SchoolDigger ranked the charter in the 76th percentile in 2024–2025 and 2025–2026, up from the 75th percentile in 2023–2024—a modest change in standing.
