Auburn Union Elementary

Auburn Elementary, Skyridge Elementary and EV Cain Elementary are the three K–8 schools in Auburn Union Elementary. In 2025–26, the three-school average was below the state in all subjects: by 17 points in English language arts (ELA), 13 in math and 7 in science. The most important difference for families is that results vary substantially from school to school, so the area average does not describe every school equally well.

Skyridge was the all-grades leader in ELA, math and science, with 49%, 42% and 43% proficiency. Its ELA result was essentially even with the state’s 49%; it was 4 points above the state in math and 7 above in science. Auburn was lowest in all three, at 20% in ELA, 16% in math and 14% in science—29, 22 and 22 points below state results. EV Cain fell between them overall, but grade 5 is a bright spot: its 53% in ELA and 47% in science exceeded state results of 49% and 35%.

Recent trends also separate the schools: from 2024–25 to 2025–26, Skyridge improved in all three subjects, led by a 5-point science gain; Auburn fell 5 points in ELA and 3 in science, while EV Cain dropped 8 in ELA and 5 in math but gained 2 in science. SchoolDigger’s statewide percentile was 63 for Skyridge in both 2024–25 and 2025–26, while Auburn’s fell from 10 to 6; EV Cain’s supplied ranking is 29 for 2025–26 only. As context, all three reported free/reduced lunch eligible for 2024–25: 49% at Skyridge, 69% at EV Cain and 84% at Auburn. Student-teacher ratios in 2024–25 were 19.7 at Skyridge, 17.0 at EV Cain and 21.7 at Auburn, so the lowest ratio was not at the highest-performing school.
