Summary:
The five high schools in Acalanes Union High serve grades 9–12 and report a combined enrollment of 5,401. Four are comprehensive high schools, with enrollments from 1,167 to 1,577; Acalanes Center for Independent Study is a much smaller, distinct setting with 61 students. In 2025–2026, the four larger schools averaged 84% proficiency in ELA, 68% in math and 68% in science, above state rates of 49%, 38% and 36%; the Center was below the state in math and science. The most important distinction is that the four comprehensive schools were above state rates in all three subjects, while the Center was not.
Miramonte led ELA at 94% and science at 83%, while Campolindo led math at 77%. The gap between the highest and lowest school results was 27 points in ELA, 49 in math and 65 in science. Las Lomas had the lowest ELA result at 67%, just below the Center’s 68%; the Center was lowest in math at 28% and science at 18%. SchoolDigger’s 2025–2026 rankings also placed Miramonte 20th and Campolindo 32nd among 2,137 California schools, compared with 760th for the Center.
Results changed unevenly: the five-school average rose 4 points in ELA and 4 in math from 2024–2025 to 2025–2026, but fell 5 points in science. Campolindo gained 12 points in science, while Las Lomas declined in all three subjects; the Center gained 16 points in ELA and 19 in math but fell 35 points in science. Over the three-year ranking period, SchoolDigger rankings improved for Miramonte and Campolindo and fell for the other three schools. Student–teacher ratios among the four larger schools were tightly grouped, from 18.9 to 19.7, compared with 9.5 at the Center. The reported free/reduced lunch eligible (FRL) measure for 2024–2025 ranged from 5% at Miramonte and 6% at Campolindo to 15% at Las Lomas and 16% at the Center; these figures are context, not an explanation for achievement differences.
