Summary:

Rocklin Unified includes 18 schools: 12 elementary, two middle, and four classified as high schools. Overall, the schools post stronger proficiency results than California in most subjects: 17 of 18 are above the state in ELA, and 16 of 18 are above it in both math and science. The clearest finding for families is that Victory High is a pronounced low-performing outlier across all three subjects.

Subject leaders differ: Whitney High leads ELA at 84% proficient, Valley View Elementary leads math at 79%, and Sierra Elementary leads science at 73%; the corresponding state rates are 49%, 38%, and 36%. In contrast, Victory scores 17% in ELA, 3% in math, and 8% in science—49, 57, and 43 percentage points below the other 17 schools’ averages. SchoolDigger ranks Whitney in the 96th percentile, Valley View in the 94th, and Sierra in the 93rd statewide, while Victory is in the 10th percentile. In grade 11, Whitney and Rocklin High are above state rates in all three subjects.

Over time, the 18-school averages were nearly unchanged in ELA and math from 2024–25 to 2025–26, while science rose 5 percentage points; science gains included 23 points at Whitney and 21 at Rocklin Elementary, though results varied by school. Income figures offer context, not an explanation: Rocklin Elementary had the second-highest elementary share of students free/reduced lunch eligible (40% in school year 2024–25), yet scored 70% in math and 68% in science. Antelope Creek Elementary had the highest share, 46%, and scored 44% in math and 31% in science. Because schools serve different grade spans, all-grades comparisons are not perfectly like-for-like.
