As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote I have a 5 year old at Garden Lakes whose level of reading and behavior is gradually getting worse because of GL. The level of education is substandard and the schools attitude is laid back and care free. If as much time and effort was put into actually teaching children how to read and write and do their math instead of drilling them about our flag and supporting veterans and constantly begging for donations for impoverished persons, then perhaps the children might receive an education equal to or even better than other leading nations. Supporting the troops and helping the needy may not be a bad thing but I send my kids to school so they can be educated about the world and educated to succeed in the world. I do not want them jumping for joy at the thought of us bombing another nation, I would like them to consider suffering people around the world, often under US sanctions, not just the unemployed on our doorstep, and I think it is disgraceful to be teaching our kids songs about every fast food outlet so they get hooked on lousy food and become morbidly obese like dare I say, rather a lot of US citizens. It is evident the education in Arizona is 30 years behind the rest of the Western world, I hope for the sake of our future we the people use some common sense and prioritize a real education over waving the flag and collecting tins of beans. About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
