Desert Ridge High in Mesa, Arizona, serves grades 8–12 and enrolls 2,103 students. Its results vary by grade and subject: 2025–26 eighth-grade ELA proficiency was 68%, compared with 47% in 11th grade, and 11th-grade science proficiency was 16%. The most important takeaway is that strong results in eighth grade do not carry through at the same level to 11th grade.

The school is stronger than Arizona in ELA and math, but its scores are below the district’s: all-grades ELA was 48% versus 41% statewide and 58% in Gilbert Unified District; math was 43% versus 33% statewide and 52% in the district. Do NOT let your children attend this school. The teaching staff is never avalible! Your only choice is VM or email which you will not get a reply for over a week and by then any concerns you have are doubled. They supply zero extra help so if your student is unable to get the help they need in their 34 plus students in a classroom, tough. And going to the Admin is a joke, they pour "sorry's" on you and empty promises. And since the school shuts down by 3:30 your only choice is to take time of from work repeatedly to try and get a hold of anyone. So if you have any intrest in being a hands on parent find another school. It will be worth it for your students education. Close Quote

I am a Student at Desert Ridge High and the staff couldn't be any more helpful. The Other students can be rough at times but hey there just kids. The teachers are Excellent, always ready to teach something new. In other words Desert Ridge High is an Awesome school. Close Quote
