Summary:
Wilson Elementary District has two schools serving grades PK–8: Wilson Primary School serves PK–3, and Wilson Elementary School serves grades 4–8. They enroll 413 and 441 students, respectively, for 854 students combined. In 2025–26, both schools’ all-grades ELA and math proficiency rates were below Arizona’s, but Primary’s math result was much closer to the state: 30% proficient, compared with 33% statewide, while Elementary had 12%.
Wilson Primary School stands out between the two on both all-grades measures, especially math: its ELA rate was 28% versus 24% at Wilson Elementary School, and its math rate was 30% versus 12%. Both schools were below the state in ELA—28% and 24%, respectively, versus 41% statewide. At Elementary, eighth-grade ELA is its strongest reported grade-level result at 27%, though still 12 points below the state’s 39%; fourth-grade ELA is its widest gap, at 23% versus 47%. Fourth-grade math also trails the state by 24 points, with 16% proficient versus 40%.
SchoolDigger ranks the district 259th of 267, in the 3rd percentile, with 0 stars. Elementary’s SchoolDigger rank improved from 478th of 550 schools in 2023–24 to 404th of 552 in 2024–25, then fell to 463rd of 536 in 2025–26; this is a ranking fluctuation, not a test-score trend. Primary’s reported student–teacher ratio is 16.5, while Elementary’s is not available. Reported 2021–22 spending was $26,100 per student at Primary and $21,264 at Elementary. The state suppressed Elementary’s fifth-, sixth- and eighth-grade math results, and missing ratio and lunch-rate information limits comparisons of school characteristics.
