Sahuarita Unified District has two high schools serving grades 9–12: Sahuarita High School and Walden Grove High School. Both graduate a high share of students: about 93% at Walden Grove and 92% at Sahuarita High, compared with 80% statewide. Test results are more mixed: the schools’ all-grades math average matches the state’s 33%, while their ELA average is about 39%, below the state’s 41% and the district’s 44%. The clearest shared academic concern is all-grades ELA, where both schools trail the state.
Neither school leads across every subject, so the stronger fit depends on what a family is weighing. Walden Grove stands out in math, scoring 34% in both all-grades and 11th-grade math, compared with 32% at Sahuarita High; its 11th-grade math result is 3 points above the state rate. Sahuarita High enrolls 1,215 students, 64 more than Walden Grove, and has a slightly higher student–teacher ratio: 22 versus 21.4. Those differences do not correspond to a consistent academic lead: Sahuarita High is ahead in ELA and science, while Walden Grove leads in math.
