Summary:
Anthem has five schools in the Deer Valley Unified District: four serving prekindergarten through grade 8 and Boulder Creek High School, serving grades 7–12. Across the five schools, average proficiency is 61% in English language arts (ELA) and 54% in math, compared with state results of 41% and 33%. The clearest area-wide finding is that every school is above the state in both subjects, though results vary substantially from school to school.
Diamond Canyon School is the strongest overall performer, leading in All Grades ELA at 72% and math at 65%; its results are 21 percentage points higher in ELA and 18 points higher in math than those at Canyon Springs STEM Academy, the lowest of the five in both subjects, at 51% and 47%. Anthem School ranks second in math at 56%, while Gavilan Peak School has the lowest student–teacher ratio among the four PK–8 schools, 13.1, but does not lead in proficiency. Boulder Creek stands out for 96% proficiency in both eighth-grade subjects and a 98% graduation rate. Because Boulder Creek serves a different grade span, its All Grades results are not directly comparable with those of the PK–8 schools.
SchoolDigger’s rankings show different paths rather than a common upward trend: from 2023–24 to 2025–26, Anthem rose 6 percentile points and Boulder Creek 7, while Canyon Springs fell 7, Diamond Canyon 1 and Gavilan Peak 14. The unweighted average percentile rank was 83 in 2023–24, peaked at 84 the next year, and reached 81 in 2025–26. Diamond Canyon currently ranks highest among the PK–8 schools, at the 91st percentile with five stars; Canyon Springs is at the 70th percentile. Ratios also do not neatly predict results: Canyon Springs and Diamond Canyon have similar ratios, 16.5 and 16.6, but markedly different proficiency, while Anthem has the smallest enrollment and the second-highest math result.
