Open Quote My child attended this school from 2019 to 2023. In the beginning it was a beautiful experience. Any issues were immediately addressed by the head of school and our child was thriving. Since that administrator left the last 2 years there have been 2 new administrators and several teachers have left and been replaced. The school environment is dysfunctional and disrespectful to students and parents. Their learning environment is stagnant and there is a serious lack of discipline among students and faculty.

Open Quote Our experience with Joseph Bruno Montessori Academy has been wonderful! I would highly recommend that you consider this school for your children. The faculty are all highly qualified and very caring. We have been here for 7 years and have loved every minute. My child has scored in the 98th percentile on all her SAT's and is doing great. The parents are all warm and friendly. It is a beautiful campus too! Also, there are tons of extra curriculars for the kids to participate in. They have soccer, tennis, basketball, chess club, LEGO robotics, dance, art enrichment, and scouts. They have after school drama class where they put on 2 plays per year plus a talent show open to any child who would like to participate. All this in addition to having music, art and Spanish as part of their weekly curriculum. JBMA is an outstanding school! Close Quote

Open Quote I would not recommend this school to anyone! This past year my spouse and I were looking for a pre-k program for our son. It was recommended to us to visit Bruno's Montessori. We visited the campus and spoke with director, Ms. Theresa Sprain and decided to let him attend their summer program for a week. He did great. At the time our son was experiencing some behavioral issues and seeing a counselor, which we were upfront with Ms. Sprain and the teachers. Ms. Sprain assured us they could work with him and us. A couple of days after school started, my son was in the office. Rather than letting him calm down and return to class(as we were told was the procedure) I was asked to come and pick him up. There were no attempts made by his teacher's nor Ms. Sprain to help him calm down. The first time my son was sent to the office, Ms. Sprain informed me that she was ready to kick him out! It was a complete 180 from what we were told prior to school starting to after school had started. During our conversation with Ms. Sprain, she was very UNPROFESSIONAL and made rude comments about our son. We felt (and knew) that Ms. Sprain and her staff never had any intention in helping our son, so we withdrew him and placed him in another school, where he is doing great! We tried to locate board members of the school and inform them of our experience but learned that Ms. Sprain is the judge and jury of the school. It's her way or the highway.

A few months later we found out that during the first half of the school year, 10 more children in the toddler classes left the school regarding problems they too had with the school; two of them were also asked to leave. What good is a school if they are not willing to help structure these young children? We also heard from some former teachers at the montessori that they had left because of some of the ways Ms. Sprain was running the school. There is something totally amiss with this school and I HIGHLY do not recommend sending your child there. Close Quote
