Huntsville High School is a large, comprehensive public high school in Huntsville, AL, serving 1,807 students in grades 9-12 as part of the Huntsville City district.

Huntsville High is a consistent academic powerhouse, ranking in the top 5% of Alabama high schools for ten straight years and earning a 5-star rating each time. Its students significantly outperform state averages in every subject, with English proficiency (65.36%) nearly double the state rate. The school also boasts an impressive 97.2% graduation rate and has cut chronic absenteeism in half over three years to just 9.3%. Notably, Huntsville High achieves these results while spending less per student ($7,531) than many peers, including Madison County High School ($11,207) and Columbia High School ($10,661). It also outperforms cross-district rival Bob Jones High School in English proficiency and graduation rate, despite serving a student body with a higher percentage of economically disadvantaged students.

Very poor administration. Ignore basic problems by pretending they don't exist. Huntsville is a nice place to live but the education system is not what you would expect in such an educated area. Choose a county school, Home school or spend the money for a private school and save yourself the headache of dealing with this system. Close Quote
