Samson High School is a small, rural public high school in Samson, Alabama, serving 183 students in grades 9-12 under the Geneva County school district.

One of the most impressive things about Samson High right now is its dramatic turnaround in student attendance. Just a few years ago, over 30% of students were chronically absent—nearly double the state average. Today, that rate has dropped to just 4.9%, which is actually better than the state average (12%) and even beats nearby Geneva High School (6.9%). This tells us the school has made real, effective changes to get kids in the classroom. The school also shines when it comes to graduation—it has stayed above 93% for years, including a perfect 100% in 2023-2024, and currently sits at 95.6%, well above the state average.
