West Valley High School is a large traditional public high school in Fairbanks, Alaska, serving roughly 782 students in grades 9–12 within the Fairbanks North Star Borough School District. Although the district overall ranks in the bottom half of Alaska districts (14th out of 23), West Valley is a relative bright spot: it currently ranks 30th out of 62 Alaska high schools, putting it just above the statewide median with a 3-star rating. It sits within walking distance of several other high school options, including Hutchison High School, North Star College, and Effie Kokrine Charter School.

West Valley's clearest strength is its graduation rate: 90.9% in 2024–2025, the highest among the area's traditional high schools and well above the district rate of 81.2%. North Pole High School (86.1%), Hutchison High School (83.8%), and Lathrop High School (78.2%) all trail behind.
