Summary

Elizabeth Holladay Elementary is a public elementary school in Richmond, Virginia, serving 805 students in grades PK-5. The school is part of the Henrico County Public Schools district, which is ranked 89 out of 129 school districts in the state and has a 2-star rating from SchoolDigger.

Elizabeth Holladay Elementary has consistently ranked in the bottom 10-15% of Virginia elementary schools over the past several years, with significantly lower performance on SOL (Standards of Learning) tests compared to the Henrico County and Virginia state averages across all grade levels and subject areas. For example, in 2024-2025, the school's 3rd grade math proficiency rate was 49.53%, compared to 64.2% for Henrico County and 72.89% for the state. The school also experiences high rates of chronic absenteeism, ranging from 10.8% to 19.3% over the past few years, which is significantly higher than the state average. Additionally, the school has a very high percentage of students eligible for free or reduced-price lunch, ranging from 67.74% to 93.17% over the past few years, indicating a high level of economic disadvantage among the student population.

While the nearby Skipwith Elementary, Chamberlayne Elementary, and Longdale Elementary schools in the Henrico County district generally perform better than Elizabeth Holladay Elementary on academic measures, they also have high percentages of students eligible for free or reduced-price lunch, suggesting that economic disadvantage is a common challenge in the area. However, one notable exception is Three Chopt Elementary, which consistently outperforms Elizabeth Holladay Elementary and the other nearby schools on academic measures, indicating that there may be factors, such as school leadership, teaching quality, or targeted interventions, that contribute to the higher performance at Three Chopt Elementary.

Open Quote i think that your teachers are the worst in the district. they don't care about the students, and i wish my children did not have to attend your school! but i don't have a choice, please inform your teachers how supposed to teach. they should not judge one student on another students behavior just because they had bad experiences. also they should not judge one siblings behavior on another because no two children are the same.
please teach your teachers to TEACH!!! also to keep their hands to their selves an not on the students! and why your at it check out your TEACHERS instead of the students because some of them have anger management issues that need to be addressed before a lawsuit is filed. THANK YOU

Open Quote My only complaints about Holladay are, the lack of a larger auditorium and the sometimes disorganized events. There are lots of fun family events every month and the teachers there really seem to love their students. Close Quote
