Summary

Cibolo Green is a public elementary school in San Antonio, TX, serving 735 students in grades PK-5 as part of the North East Independent School District (Isd), and it consistently ranks among the top 15-20% of Texas elementary schools, making it a reliable, high-quality choice for families.

Cibolo Green stands out for its exceptional math program, particularly for advanced students. For three consecutive years, 100% of its 6th-grade students taking the STAAR Math test have scored proficient or above—a perfect record that is a significant outlier compared to nearby schools. This suggests a robust pipeline for identifying and accelerating gifted math students. The school also delivers consistent, above-average performance across all core subjects, outperforming both district and state averages in Reading, Math, and Science. For example, its 4th-grade Reading score was nearly 19 points above the district average. While it is not the absolute top performer in its area—schools like Indian Springs Elementary and Hardy Oak Elementary rank slightly higher—Cibolo Green sits comfortably in the upper-middle tier, outperforming peers like Las Lomas Elementary, Canyon Ridge Elementary, and Bulverde Creek.

One interesting finding is that Cibolo Green does not appear to offer a bilingual/dual-language program, unlike nearby Roan Forest Elementary, which has a highly effective program for Spanish-speaking students. Additionally, the school's overall state ranking has seen a slight dip from its peak in the mid-2010s, though it remains excellent. For families seeking a well-rounded, high-performing school with a standout math program and a supportive community, Cibolo Green is a strong option within the competitive landscape of San Antonio's top elementary schools.

Open Quote Son was bullied his 4th grade year to the point that at the end of the school year he was physically assaulted by the bully. We requested to talk with the principal. Secretary's answer was "Shes very busy with end of the year awards." WHAT?! I called several times for meeting with no success. Went to school & insisted on talking with someone. After an hour talked to assist. principal. She lied, saying she wasn't aware of the bullying (Had email from her stating otherwise) & wouldn't assure my sons safety. Frustrated, we pulled him out of school. After 3 absences, automated email was sent. I emailed principal why my son was not in school (ie the bully assaulting my son) she replied, "please be sure to notify the district of his withdrawal." No concern that we had pulled him out of school!
Over my 2 years there here is my overall impression; some teachers there are good. Instruction is geared excessively to the STARR/TAKS test. Unless your child is "perfect" (doesn't require the administrations attention), you are a PTA uber-member or can benefit the school (ie super volunteering, help make money) the admin could care less about you. It lacks leadership that is dedicated to the learning and safety of EVERY student!! There are better schools in NEISD. I suggest checking out the others before going here! Close Quote
