Summary

Patrick Elementary School is a public elementary school located in Gold Hill, Oregon, serving 196 students in grades K-5. The school is part of the Central Point School District 6, which is ranked 80 out of 140 districts in the state and has a 2-star rating from SchoolDigger.

Patrick Elementary School has consistently ranked in the bottom half of Oregon elementary schools, ranging from 449th to 592nd out of 701-710 schools over the past 10 years. The school's proficiency rates in English Language Arts and Mathematics are lower than the district and state averages across all grade levels. For example, in 2024-2025, the school's 3rd-grade English Language Arts proficiency rate was 46.3%, compared to the district's 37.2% and the state's 40.3%. Additionally, the school's 5th-grade Mathematics proficiency rate was only 16.3%, significantly lower than the district's 20.5% and the state's 31.3%. Nearby schools like Jewett Elementary and Central Point Elementary also struggle with low test scores, with similar or even lower proficiency rates compared to Patrick Elementary.

Patrick Elementary School has experienced high chronic absenteeism rates, ranging from 30.7% to 38.1% over the past few years. This is a concerning trend, as high chronic absenteeism is often linked to lower academic achievement. The nearby schools in the Central Point School District also have similarly high chronic absenteeism rates, suggesting this is a systemic issue in the district. Additionally, Patrick Elementary School has a high percentage of students from low socioeconomic backgrounds, with 66.33% of students qualifying for free or reduced-price lunch in the 2023-2024 school year, which is higher than the state average and likely contributes to the school's lower academic performance.

Open Quote Teachers work hard. Principal and front office staff seem to think they're doing the school a favor by simply being there and so they skate lazily by and that shows in the school's score - the lowest in Jackson County. Close Quote
