The school is part of the Tulsa School District, which is ranked 387 out of 452 districts in the state and has a 1-star rating from SchoolDigger. Central High School has consistently ranked in the bottom tier of Oklahoma high schools over the past decade.

Academically, Central High School significantly underperforms compared to the Tulsa and Oklahoma state averages across all major subject areas. The school also has consistently low four-year graduation rates, ranging from 61.2% to 82.2% in recent years, well below the state average. Additionally, Central High School has extremely high chronic absenteeism rates, ranging from 19.0% to 61.2% in recent years, indicating a significant issue with student attendance and engagement.

When comparing Central High School to other nearby high schools in the Tulsa district, it is clear that Central is an outlier in terms of academic performance and other key metrics. Despite its consistently low performance, Central High School has not shown any meaningful improvement in its rankings or academic outcomes over the past decade, suggesting a need for significant intervention and support to address the underlying issues.

Open Quote One teacher called my special needs son a "dumba". Another kept marking my child absent even when she was there (I arrived early and there she was...she was still marked absent for that day). Racism is rampant as one of the teachers kept referring to my child as "white boy." They openly gossip about one another in front of the students. My son had an IEP and didn't receive ANY assistance.
Nope....pretty much what you would assume ypu would find in a low-income school. Teachers don't care. They barely teach at all. Law of the jungle in these schools. 2 people were going through my daughter's backpack right in front of a teacher and he shrugged his shoulders telling her it wasn't his problem. Another time, a boy who had a crush on my daughter slapped her ACROSS THE FACE and the teacher didnt say anything.
This is the worst school I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. There is favoritism among certain groups of students, bullying, sexual misconduct and assault among the students, the vice peinciple (who sure doesn't deserve that title) should be fired and the school should be bulldozed to the ground. My son got into an argument with another boy. This boy punched my child in the face (this was my special needs son) and the vice principle called me and left a voicemail basically telling me he got what he deserved (I still have the voicemail to prove it. If you care about your children, DO NOT ALLOW THEM TO ATTEND THIS FLAMIMG PILE OF CRAP. Close Quote
