Summary

D'Youville-Porter Campus is an elementary school serving grades PK-8 in the Buffalo City School District, with 519 students. The school has consistently ranked in the bottom 10% of New York elementary schools over the past decade, with a 0-star rating from SchoolDigger.

D'Youville-Porter Campus significantly underperforms compared to the district and state on standardized test scores, with proficiency rates ranging from 4% to 21% in English Language Arts and 2% to 14% in Math. The school struggles across all student subgroups, ranking in the bottom 10-20% of New York elementary schools. Despite having a relatively low student-teacher ratio and increased spending per student, the school has not shown any meaningful improvement in its state rankings or test scores over the past decade.

Nearby schools, such as Waterfront Elementary, Native American Magnet, and several charter schools, generally outperform D'Youville-Porter Campus on academic measures. The high poverty level of the school's student population, as indicated by its extremely high free/reduced lunch rate, likely plays a significant role in its academic challenges. While the school has room for improvement, identifying and addressing the root causes of its underperformance will be crucial to providing better educational opportunities for its students.

Open Quote It has been extremely difficult to accomplish anything for my son's wellbeing with this school. Unfortunately, some teachers have tried to help but their resources are limited. Communication is lacking along with support for the children. Close Quote

Open Quote Overall rating is one lonely, pathetic star, As A parent, I have to say, D Youville Porter Campus #3 Is Absolutely The Most Terrible, Pathetic, Underachieving, Poor test score School Ever Known To Any Child!!! along with dimwitted, incompetent staff/ instructors and poor disgusting breakfasts and lunches served daily, and not to mention the (make-shift-ghetto fashion uniform attire) which is mandatory and b.t.w looks absolutely ridiculous/hideous on everyone and if your child isn't wearing this ghetto, makeshift uniform to school daily you will be receiving a telephone call or a notice sent to your home in regards of this ridiculous crappy uniform!!!....("WARNING, WARNING-TO- ALL -PARENTS"!!!)......Do not send your child/children to this school'!!.... Do yourselves the favor and do your elementary school research before choosing or sending your children to D'youville Porter Pathetic Campus #3 in the future!! Close Quote

Open Quote Most second-rate school ever known to any child! This school does not even deserve one star, it deserves a zero in ratings all together. Not one pro! It is an incompetent school with inept teachers and staff members who cannot even grade correctly, so you'd have to pull them aside and make them fix your grades. Their system is awful! Not to mention the breakfasts which includes cereal with no milk, no utensils, or something that is unknown or inedible. Lunches are under cooked and can not be identified. Mostly everyday they serve a bunch of garbage like pizza, pasta and other sickly foods. Very seldom is healthy food served. The Rude lunch ladies could also care less. So it's either eat their crappy lunches or starve till you get home. You better have a strong stomach if you do eat there. You have to wash your hands in freezing cold water in the bathrooms and sometimes there's nothing to dry your hands with! The attire is also appalling. It is a makeshift uniform where everyone is wearing different colored yellow shirts and blue or khaki pants (probably something they made up) which is mandatory. If you do not wear it, they call you up with others and either, send home a letter indicating if you do not wear that ghetto homemade uniform you cannot return, or enclose students in a room for a lecture. Staff members could care less about the students and COMPLETE inadequate organization. I wouldn't recommend my worst enemy to come to this school, Trust me, read and if you care about your child's education DO NOT send them to this deficient school. You will regret the moment you did and your child(ren) will be miserable their whole stay there. This is possibly one of the worse elementary schools in Buffalo, New York. Close Quote
