Open Quote If you are looking for a school that has caring teachers that coming to school everyday ready to help your child learn, Northview is that school. For the past three years we have been thrilled with ever teacher involved in helping our son learn. Recently his teacher took the time to work with him to find a win-win situation to help him with his writing skills. She gave up her free time to insure that he is learning. This isn't the first time that a teacher at Northview has gone out of their way.
If you are looking for a school with a sense of community, Northview is that school. The year begins with a openhouse to welcome the students and parents and continues throughout the year with Playground nights, Family Fun Nights and the carnival.
If you are looking for a school that welcomes parent involvement, Northview is that school. The PTO offers ample opportunities to volunteer at fundraising events. Teachers openly encourage involvement in the classroom. Northview also offers Lego league and Destination imagination to name a few.
Northview is a school of All-Stars. Close Quote

Open Quote I am a parent of 2 children at Northview. While Northview isn't the newest building in the district; what is happening on the inside is excellent. The teachers are amazing and make personal connections with the children. Parents are involved with volunteering in the classroom and with creating community. The PTO supports the school with fundraising that supplies books, software licenses, external programs (such as science programs with The Works or various theater programs) and more. The PTO also supports community-building activities such as Family Fun nights, Art Adventure (a Minneapolis Institute of Arts program) and the annual school carnival. Northview got a new principal last year who is passionate about children and supports programs within the school. While sports are supported through the Eagan Athletic Association; Northview has several extra-curricular activities. This year there are several Destination Imagination and Lego League Robotics teams. There is a Ski Club for 4th and 5th graders. Spanish is offered as an after-school program. Band begins in 5th grade and the annual 5th grade trip to Deep Portage is a highlight. Close Quote

Open Quote Northview is amazing. I have three children at this school. It is a small school. The teachers and staff know every child by name. The curriculum is differentiated to meet the needs of children at every level. They have an after school Spanish class, Destination Imagination, Robotics Teams, and a Ski Club. The principal, Kerri Town, is passionate about children. Northview is a wonderful place for your child to learn and grow! Close Quote

Open Quote I have a son and a daughter at Northview and could not be happier with the quality of education that they are receiving. Parental involvement is high, the sense of community is strong and the teachers are supportive and challenging. If you have the chance to send your kids to Northview, do it! you'll change their lives for the better. Close Quote

Open Quote I just wanted to address the negative review that was left.

I cannot speak to having a child with special needs. However, The sense of community is wonderful. My wife volunteers twice a week in class. The communication is constant and the class sizes are shrinking. My two cents... Close Quote

Open Quote Northview has a very dedicated group of teachers and staff. Despite being a suburb of 65,000 people, they maintain a small-town feeling. Very happy to have our 2 daughters here. Close Quote

Open Quote This school does the bare minimum to educate our children. The school does not promote a sense of community. Northview Elementary does not encourage parent participation, offer a parent information night, volunteers in the classroom or parental communication.
The class sizes are large and they continue to accept open enrollments even though the class sizes are already at 29+. If your child needs any added support (ESL, Adaptive PE, Speech and Language services, academic support, etc. ) go look else where for a quality school. Close Quote
