Summary

Cypress Trails Elementary School in Royal Palm Beach, FL, is a mid-sized school serving 533 students from Pre-K through 5th grade in the Palm Beach School District, with a solid academic track record and a current 3-star rating from SchoolDigger.

Cypress Trails shines brightest in math and science. In 5th grade math, 78% of students were proficient, outperforming the district (66%) and state (62%) averages, and surpassing nearby schools like Everglades Elementary (64%) and Wellington Elementary (71%). The school also excels in 5th grade science, with 74% proficiency—14 points above district and state averages—tying with Elbridge Gale Elementary and surpassing H. L. Johnson Elementary (70%) and Royal Palm Beach Elementary (70%). The school invests heavily in its students, spending $15,182 per pupil, which is higher than many neighbors like Binks Forest Elementary ($13,311) and Western Academy Charter School ($10,915), and maintains a favorable 14.8:1 student-teacher ratio.

However, the school faces challenges. Chronic absenteeism sits at 23.1%, which is in line with the district average but higher than top performers like Binks Forest (15.6%) and Western Academy (15.2%). The school’s state ranking has also been inconsistent, bouncing between 3 and 4 stars in recent years, suggesting sensitivity to changes in student cohorts. While Cypress Trails is a strong, above-average school, it is located in a region with several exceptionally high-performing schools, such as Binks Forest (98th percentile) and Western Academy (89th percentile), which may overshadow its own solid achievements in math and science.

Open Quote Cypress Trails is a hidden gem in RPB. The administration are very hard working and you can tell they want the best for our children. The school is small which is a huge plus compared to the over 1,000 student elementary schools around.
This is a great school and the parents of the students need to step up and get more involved. The most important factor in your child's education is YOU the parent. Volunteer at your kid's school weekly-just do it! Close Quote
