Summary

Lakeview Elementary School is a public school in Saint Cloud, FL, serving 752 students in grades PK-5 and is part of the Osceola school district.

Lakeview stands out for its strong and consistent academic improvement, especially when compared to nearby schools. In the 2025-2026 school year, it achieved its highest state ranking in four years, reaching the 64th percentile. This positive trajectory is a stark contrast to several neighboring schools like Neptune Elementary (28th percentile) and Partin Settlement Elementary (30th percentile), which are trending downward. A key differentiator is Lakeview's performance in 5th-grade science, where 64% of students were proficient, significantly outpacing the district (51%) and state (60%) averages. This is the highest science proficiency rate among all nearby traditional elementary schools, tied with Michigan Avenue Elementary. Furthermore, Lakeview consistently scores above the district average in nearly every subject and grade level, unlike East Lake Elementary, which sees significant drops in 4th and 5th grades.

An interesting comparison is with St. Cloud Elementary, located just 1.5 miles away. While St. Cloud excels in early grades, it sees a sharp decline by 5th grade. Lakeview, conversely, shows more consistent performance across all grades, with 5th-grade scores that are actually higher than St. Cloud's. This suggests Lakeview may have a more effective approach to sustaining student growth through the upper elementary years. While the highest-performing nearby school is Canoe Creek K-8 (80th percentile), it is a K-8 school with a different structure. Lakeview's recent upward momentum, combined with lower chronic absenteeism than the district average, positions it as a relative bright spot in the district and a school on the rise.

Open Quote Principal allows teachers and students to bully kids because he is too worried that by handling the matter appropriately that his school will get a bad record. He will not listen to your concerns written or verbal, he will talk over you and act like you are wasting his time. According the the school board policy on bullying, the principal is suppose to lead the investigation when bullying is brought to his attention, instead he does everything in his power to brush it under the mat. Also, looking at these ratings sites when parents have tried to voice the same thing he goes behind them and praises himself talking about how involved and fabulous he is. This guy is a piece of work! He need to be replaced by the vice principal, she is actually cares about the kids- she won't allow the kids to suffer to keep a good reputation! Close Quote
