Summary

Royal Palm Charter School is a public charter elementary school serving grades K-8 in Palm Bay, Florida, with 342 students enrolled. Located within the Brevard District, which is ranked 23rd out of 67 districts in the state, Royal Palm Charter School generally performs better than the district and state averages on standardized tests, particularly in Civics and 6th-8th grade English Language Arts and Math.

However, the school faces some challenges, including a higher chronic absenteeism rate of 31.4% compared to the state and district averages. Additionally, Royal Palm Charter School serves a higher percentage of economically disadvantaged students, with 51.75% of students qualifying for free or reduced-price lunch in 2023-2024. Despite these challenges, the school has maintained a relatively consistent 2-star rating from SchoolDigger for several years, suggesting it has been able to effectively allocate its resources to support student learning, even with lower per-student spending of $9,524 in 2023-2024.

Compared to nearby public schools, such as Lockmar Elementary School, Westside Elementary School, and Sunrise Elementary School, Royal Palm Charter School appears to be a solid performer within the Brevard District, with particular strengths in certain subject areas and a focus on serving economically disadvantaged students. However, the school's high chronic absenteeism rate is an area that warrants further attention and intervention.

Open Quote My oldest daughter has been a student at RP since KG, she is now in 6th grade. My youngest is going into 2nd. We love RP, the communicstion is wonderful between the staff and the parents. They really care about each student and realize that there is more to each student then just a test score. Close Quote

Open Quote Bullying is a very big problem in the school. Nothing ever gets done about it but a slap in the hand in most cases. Stay away from this school. Close Quote
