Summary:

The 82082 area has two schools in Laramie County School District #2, serving grades K–12 and enrolling 366 students: Pine Bluffs Elementary serves grades K–6 with 177 students, and Pine Bluffs Junior & Senior High School serves grades 7–12 with 189. The most important finding is the contrast in 2025–2026 results: Elementary averaged 14.6 percentage points above the state in ELA and 4.2 points above in math, while Junior & Senior High averaged 12.7 points below in ELA and 13.8 below in math.

Elementary is the standout: it exceeded state ELA results in all four tested grades by 10.1–22.4 points, was above the state in three of four math grades, and scored 23.8 points above the state in grade 4 science. Junior & Senior High had a weaker state-relative profile, falling below the state in three of four ELA grades and all four math grades; grade 8 ELA was 4.5 points above the state, and grade 8 science was 1.9 points above. SchoolDigger rates Elementary 4 stars, in Wyoming’s 82nd percentile, and Junior & Senior High 1 star, in the 17th percentile. The schools serve different tested grades, so their scores are best understood against state results for the same grades rather than as a direct ranking of one another.

Recent results point to different directions: Elementary’s average ELA proficiency rose 4.1 points from 2024–2025 to 2025–2026, while its math average rose just 0.7 points and its advantage over the state narrowed from 8.6 to 4.2 points. At Junior & Senior High, average ELA fell 8.9 points and math fell 8.0, widening its gaps below the state. SchoolDigger’s latest rankings echo the difference: Elementary improved to rank 27 of 148 schools, while Junior & Senior High fell to 67 of 81. Both schools reported similar 2024–2025 free/reduced-lunch eligibility (46.9% and 45.0%), an observation rather than an explanation for results; reported student-teacher ratios were 12.5 and 10. A broader positive for the high school is its 87.9% graduation rate, above the state’s 83.1%.
