Tongue River High School in Dayton, Wyoming, enrolls 276 students in grades 9–12. Its 2025–26 WY-TOPP results are above the state in four of five grade-and-subject comparisons, but its local comparisons are weaker. The central takeaway is that Tongue River trails Sheridan County School District #1 in all five comparisons and ranks third among four nearby schools in each one.

Mathematics is Tongue River’s strongest subject relative to Wyoming: it scored 4 points above the state in grade 10 and 6 points above in grade 9. Grade 9 English Language Arts is the clearest weak spot: its 53% result was 3 points below the state, 12 below the district and 17 below the nearby-school average of 70%.
