Summary

Skyview Elementary School is a public elementary school in Morgantown, West Virginia, serving 413 students in grades PK-5. The school is part of the Monongalia County Schools district, which is ranked 5th out of 55 districts in the state and has a 5-star rating from SchoolDigger.

While Skyview Elementary School has had a mixed performance history, with its statewide ranking ranging from 168th to 253rd out of West Virginia's elementary schools over the past 10 years, its overall academic performance is generally below the district and state averages. The school's student performance on state assessments lags behind the Monongalia County Schools district, particularly in 5th grade math and science, where proficiency rates are around 33%. However, the school's performance for African American and English Language Learner students has been relatively strong, ranking in the top half of the state.

Compared to other elementary schools in the Monongalia County district, such as Cheat Lake Elementary, Ridgedale Elementary, and Suncrest Elementary, which consistently rank in the top 25% of West Virginia elementary schools, Skyview Elementary School's performance is weaker. Addressing these performance gaps through data-driven instructional improvements and targeted support for struggling students could be key focus areas for the school's leadership and the district.

Open Quote My grandchildren attend Skyview Elementary. The people at the school care about the kids and do their best to support the families of the children. My phone calls are always returned and I am encouraged to visit the school. Close Quote

Open Quote This school is poorly operated.the principal and vice principal and counselor all target low income children and make kids that dress differently feel as is they are doing something wrong. Kids are not allowed to touch each other without being accused of being sexually explicit. People who are in charge of this school have a authority problem. And they are making these children suffer emotional problems. Just for dressing different than other kids. I don't understand why you would become a principal or person of authority if you knew you would abuse your power. Who are you to pass judgment on children's creative ideas. In clothing art and physical contact. Unless it is causing harm. Close Quote
