Open Quote Who is writing those statistics? Maybe it's just outdated, since student-teacher ratio in FALK Elementary is definitely NOT 9 anymore! and look how far behind academically they are comparing to other schools in Madison. It's not teachers' fault, we all know why (just check demography and neighborhoods). The little kids are OK, K-1 are safe and playful. ECE program is great. The problem starts in 2/3 grades and it's called BULLYING! guess who is in minority this time? ah - and they somehow 'protect' the bullies. I think it's like reversed discrimination, but they have their own reasons for that..."When we don't know what is it about - it's for sure about one thing..."
Children's well being is not respected at all, they feelings, they problems are nothing for the 'upper management'. The ratio of kids in a class is important (needs to be a certain amount of different races in one group), even when it means splitting a class/best friends/singling out kids etc. And quite often parents cannot 'work things out' with a principal. Usually end up with changing schools. Think before you put your precious little one here. Sad sad place for your child to be. Unless you have no choice... Close Quote

Open Quote I am a practicum student at Falk and I am very impressed with the rigor of their academic programs. It is important to note that every school will have a few bad seeds. Close Quote
