Summary:

The Muskego-Norway School District serves about 4,602 students across six schools — three elementary, two middle, and one high school — and ranks 23rd of 432 Wisconsin districts, in the 95th percentile with 5 stars. Enrollment is split fairly evenly: 1,619 students in elementary grades, 1,349 in the middle schools, and 1,634 at the high school. Five of the six schools earned 5 stars in 2025-26, and every reported test-score comparison in the district sits above its state value.

Mill Valley Elementary is the district's top elementary school, ranking 37th of 1,039 (96th percentile) with the highest proficiency average (about 81.7%) and the lowest chronic absenteeism (4.3%). Muskego Lakes Middle (26th of 643) and Lake Denoon Middle (30th of 643) are both 5-star schools with standout math and social studies results. Bay Lane Elementary, the largest elementary at 912 students, is especially strong in math, while Muskego High ranks 27th of 533 with a 97.2% graduation rate and a 0.1% dropout rate.

Lakeview Elementary is the watch item: it is the only 4-star school at 290 students, and its rank fell from 21st of 1,061 in 2023-24 to 170th of 1,039 in 2025-26, though it still scores above state in every reported test. Chronic absenteeism climbs with grade level — 4.3% to 5.2% in elementary, 9.2% to 10.3% in middle, and 11.9% at the high school — but all remain below the state's 17.3%. Spending and class size do not track simply with outcomes here: the high school has the lowest per-student spending and largest classes yet excellent results, while Lakeview has the second-highest spending but the lowest elementary average.
