Summary:

Mayville School District in Wisconsin is a two-school district serving 874 students: Mayville Elementary, covering kindergarten through 6th grade with 388 students, and Mayville Junior-Senior High, serving grades 7–12 with 486 students. There is no separate middle school and no alternative school in this data, so grades 7 and 8 sit inside the junior-senior high record and middle-grade results are embedded in the high school's numbers. The district overall is ranked 272 of 432 in Wisconsin, at the 37th percentile with 2 stars.

Both schools are improving. Mayville Elementary rose from the 41st to the 51st percentile, and Mayville Junior-Senior High rose from the 42nd to the 58th percentile; both moved from 2 stars to 3 stars in 2025–2026 even though the district rating remains at 2 stars. The elementary's clearest strength is its early grades: 3rd grade ELA is 71.93% proficient, nearly 20 points above the state's 52.08%, and 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade math are all above state. The junior-senior high's brightest spots are completion and attendance: a 97.0% graduation rate, a 0.6% dropout rate, and 9.6% chronic absenteeism, all better than state figures, plus a jump in 10th grade ACT ELA from 44.78% to 59.34%, now 10.87 points above state.

Families should also know the weak areas. Eighth grade is the biggest concern: math fell from 57.50% to 34.43%, now 19.24 points below state, while 8th grade science and social studies also dropped. Social studies trails the state at every level tested in both schools, and 6th grade ELA remains 12.84 points below state. The elementary has higher chronic absenteeism (11.3%) than the high school (9.6%) and higher free/reduced lunch (45.1% vs 32.1%), despite a lower student-teacher ratio (12.6 vs 14.0) and slightly higher per-student spending ($15,250 vs $14,978).
